Highland Arrow is an independent Canada-based games publication founded in October of 2013 with a focus on PC gaming that holds its self to a collective higher standard of game journalism. We feel that gamers deserve better than much of what passes for video game news and review coverage online, and this is our effort to do just that. We strive to have thoughtful coverage for reviews, previews, and news, as free from industry influences on opinion as we can be, so that you, the gamer, can make informed decisions about what games you want to spend your time and money on. That is our creed, and what we hope to deliver.
Our content includes news articles, game reviews under three different labels, and the occasional preview, trailer, and other content released by publishers.

Maiya is a seasoned editor who previous experience in games journalism, having been reviews editor of a local print games publication. She first came up with Highland Arrow as an independent return to form in the winter of 2013/2014, with the help of Beth, Peter, and John. Chances are if you're reading a review on here, it's been written by her.
Wondering where Maiya is coming from in her reviews and if they're for you? A soapbox article she did during the #GamerGate fiasco of 2014 is probably the best place to look.

Webmaster / Web Design / Programming
A web design student and consummate lover of fine coffees, John was responsible for making the site look shiny and keeping everything from exploding, from October 2013 to September 2014. Thankfully, the site software is such that such exploding was kept to a minimum.
With the games industry and the internet in general being what it is, sometimes people will attempt to impersonate others - including us! - to try to get review codes, or solicit money, and the like. Such scams are hardly new to the internet and if you're not sure if communication claiming to be from us is legitimate, there's a few things your can look for:
- All email that is not automatically sent by site software should be signed with a PGP Key, which you can verify with a public key authority, or our local copies - see above
- All email should originate from out of server IPs: 18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124 - you can verify this with SPF. Keep in mind though, IPs can be spoofed!
